Beth's is by far my favorite bakery in Evanston and my go-to place for croissants and scones. I'm always taking their pastries to different events and they're always a hit!

I walked in looking for coffee and found so much more. Located at the corner of Central and Prairie in Evanston, Beth’s is a hidden gem tucked inside what appears to be a bar and grill—don’t let that fool you. The moment you step inside, the aroma of fresh croissants, coffee, and spices tells you this is where you want to be. The space is bright, comfortable, and filled with nice music and plenty of natural light. I had a wonderful conversation with the owner while enjoying a tall coffee with cream and an enormous ham and cheese croissant that was absolutely delicious. The croissant alone was worth the visit, and the prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality you get. They also offer donuts, macaroons, and other pastries—and the macaroons are impressively large. The brilliant part? They share the space with the bar, so you get a relaxed, welcoming environment whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee and breakfast or lingering a bit longer. This is a five-star spot for environment, food quality, and value. I’ll definitely be back to try those macaroons next time.

I know Beth’s Bake Shop fans will be so excited to again have the absolutely best scones on the north shore. Lemon/blueberry, chocolate cherry all back! Along with the beautiful and tasty macarons. I tried the apple fritter donut. So good! Comida offers a much better space than the donut shop.

I’m normally not the biggest fan of butter cream cake but I was surprisingly delighted by the cake here! I ordered their signature thin mint cake with some personalized message, and as a fan of mint chocolate flavors, I really enjoyed it until the last bite. And the cake was also visually pleasing, so I felt bad having to cut it into slices. Their other pastries also looked amazing and I would love to go back and try them out as well!

Big flavor in these little macarons! I love how good they taste but also how cute they look. Truly a feast for the eyes as well as mouth. Not pictured was the lemon blueberry muffin we destroyed before we got a photo. But it was everything you want with fresh blueberries and the right amount of lemon. Check out the cakes in the case if you go in, the decorator is truly an artist.
